V0.2: Basically Something

Howllo Everyone!

V0.2 has arrived! But, with some disappointment sadly... This was supposed to be the update where character customization was going to be implemented, but it was cut back a chucked to a later update due to it being more of an aesthetic development rather a mechanically development. I'll toy around and see if I can't get a proper sprite/voxel created but for now, I'm delaying it in favor of getting the game loop created.

Anyways, this update has a basic character creator layout that will get reworked. Key binding is now saveable and you can revert back to the default keys. I also implemented a language option, though it is set up so that if you want another language, you'll need to use the community or translate one yourself. I'll add a how to guide later. And how the language option is implemented, it should stay reverse compatible for a long time with minor tweaks if need be.

The player can now rotate in a full 360° when viewing their profile, which is better than the previous method since it only translated the sprites rather than giving it a convincing rotation. It is a little janky at every other 45° positions, but the way it renders it means that content creation can be a lot easier with only developing in one dimension rather than two. (In the last version, the profile was a separate sprite sheet that needed to be created in order to display the character properly).

I also made text boxes! Though their might be some small bugs, but it should work efficiently enough. Options can now be accessed from the pause menu, with additional options such as camera rotation speed and military time option. And on the title screen there are links to my itch.iomy gamejoltmy patreonthe game on the weight gaming forums, and the game's community page. So I hope you'll follow along onto the next update: Open House.

Thank you for your time, have a nice and safe day!
